I do not recommend this to anyone, unless you are a horror fanatic with a huge amount of mental toughness. If you are going to watch A Serbian Film, I wish you the best of luck, but this is one of those movies that stays with you for years. I think a lot of the very poor reviews want to pretend that these things don't take place in real life, but they do. They tried to capture the darkest side of humanity, and successfully did that in my opinion. The worst part? This shit happens in real life and that's why I give the director some credit. I don't think this is good for anyone's mental health to watch this.

We just sat there in silence for a couple of hours after the movie finished (after we put on Spongebob of course). It is absolutely brutal, sadistic and twisted and left me completely speechless and numb.

And honestly, I wish I stopped when they did. Myself and two of my best friends watched this as 'invincible' early-20-something-year-olds and I was the only one out of the three of us that were able to finish it. I watched this about ten years ago (not since) and I still remember most of it vividly. Perhaps, a book version would've worked, but it's just too much to view. I would not recommend this to anyone in good conscience, unless someone asked me for my most disturbing recommendation of all time. I truthfully have no idea how to rate this movie. To be fair, the production values are passable in the first half and the second half of the movie effectively achieves the vibe of a drug-induced fever dream, but the fact remains that it is a very difficult film to watch and will leave many viewers scarred to varying degrees from the experience. The plot of the movie, a retired porn star returning to the industry as the result of a lucrative offer, is threadbare at best, leaving you to wonder if a storyline is even really necessary. It simply is what it is вЂ“ a simulated snuff film featuring asphyxiation by fellatio, eye socket intercourse, a coital decapitation, and вЂnewborn' porn, among other atrocities. Don't listen to those who will try to convince you that, in order to justify its ugliness, A Serbian Film is a political allegory or a satire of something or other.
